New Match Announced For The Bash, The Television Return of Jack Swagger, SPOILER Regarding this Monday's Raw

It was announced this past Friday on Smackdown that Gregory Helms would challenge Chris Jericho for the WWE Championship at The Bash. This will be the first time Helms competes for a World Championship, and it is expected that the match will be a very good one.

Jack Swagger returns to Television this Tuesday on ECW when he goes one-on-one with Evan "Air" Bourne. The match will likely be the Main Event.

This Monday on Raw, there will be a 10-Man Over The Top Rope Battle Royal to find out who will challenge either Striker "Yank" Boyd or Montel Vontavious Porter (MVP) for the WWE United States Championship at The Bash. The current plan is for John Morrison to win the match, although plans could change.

The Shawn Michaels/Edge Rivalry is expected to come to an end at Night of Champions. The match will likely end in a draw, with neither superstar emerging victorious. It's possible WWE will not take that route, though, as Edge is expected to take some time off in the near future.

We speculated earlier in the month that Jack Swagger would be making a face turn after his match with Shelton Benjamin, but it appears that is not the case. The current plan for Swagger is to have him feud with Brownlee, but it is unknown if those plans will change.

Despite it being a bit early, it was announced that there would be a Scramble Match this Monday on Raw with the winner going to challenge for the World Championship at Night of Champions. It will be Shawn Michaels vs. Edge vs. Kylarnartia vs. Mr. Kennedy vs. The Miz.

Well, I thought this would be a nice idea. So I'm going to try it, and if it's well liked, then I'll keep it. Since three episodes have been posted, let's see the highlights from them:

#5: Evan Bourne, Rob Van Dam, & Big Show vs. The Hart Dynasty & William Regal: Rob Van Dam made a surprise return after a few months of being inactive, and it was exciting to see him team with Evan Bourne. Bourne continues to ride a path of success, picking up a pinfall victory for his team after hitting a Shooting Star Press on William Regal.

#4: Kylarnartia vs. Mr. Kennedy: Fans had been waiting weeks for the match, and - when they finally got it - it didn't disappoint. Kennedy and Kylarnartia put on a great show and Kennedy looked impressive in his return match, using an innovative strategy to hit the Mic Check.

#3: The V.I.P. Lounge: In addition to having a cool Barbed Wire Theme that got fans hyped for the Barbed Wire Match at Extreme Rules, MVP and Striker Boyd sent strong messages to each other. That match will likely be one of the best at Extreme Rules.

#2: Triple H becomes the Smackdown General Manager: No one expected it to happen, but The Game - with a little help from John Cena - became the General Manager of Friday Night Smackdown. What will happen when Triple H is in charge? He truly is The King of Kings now; at least on Smackdown.

#1: Brock Lesnar vs. Finlay: One of the greatest matches in WWE History. Lasted about thirty minutes and it's a match that the fans are likely to remember for a long time.

After winning the ECW Championship at a Live Event in Toronto, Canada this past Sunday, "The Gold Standard" Shelton Benjamin was interviewed by Joey Styles. Despite being a short interview, here's what Benjamin had to say:

Styles: "Ladies and gentlemen I am joined now by the new E C W Champion, Shelton Benjamin. Shelton, just hours ago you became a World Champion for the first time in your career when you defeated Jack Swagger to become the new ECW Champion. What's next for Shelton Benjamin?"

Benjamin: "What's next? There's a new era beginning, and it will begin this Tuesday on ECW. I am "The Gold Standard", and the only reason I haven't held World Championship Gold before is because I was never given the opportunity. I am superior to every athlete on the ECW Roster, and that's something that I will demonstrate each and every week."

We've continued to update on the Three-Hour Raw as information was released, and more was - just recently - revealed. The Three-Hour Show will see the return of a "Former World Champion". That's all that known, and all that is expected to be revealed until the show itself.

Triple H has been heel as of late, but the current plans are to turn him face relatively soon. With Smackdown being very heel heavy, many feel that Triple H needs to turn face to keep a balance between the two.

Night of Champions will feature Title Matches for every Title on all three shows, leading to what is expected to be a 10-12 Match Show. It is unknown if the show's time will be extended, but we'll continue to update.

With Christian being sidelined for 3-4 months at least due to a knee injury, a new ECW Champion - Shelton Benjamin - was crowned at a Live Event last night in Toronto, Canada. The entire ECW Match Card has been modified, and all that is known is that Shelton Benjamin will open the show.

That's right; there's a new ECW Champion in town. After suffering what is assumed to be a severe knee injury, ECW Champion Christian had no choice but to vacate the ECW Championship, doing so at a Live Event in his hometown of Toronto, Canada. It wasn't so much the injury that shocked people, yet the person that capitalized on the opportunity to become the Champion. Here's a recap of the House Show:

~Match 1: The Miz defeated R Truth

-The crowd was into R Truth, and a match like this was good to get the show rolling. The finish came when Miz dodged a Missle Dropkick and dropped Truth with a Reality Check.

~Match 2: Carlito & Primo defeated The World's Greatest Tag Team to retain the World Tag Team Championships

-A Title Change wasn't likely, nor did it happen. In a fast paced contest, The Colons retained the Gold after Primo hit Shelton Benjamin with a Flying Crossbody for the victory.

~Match 3: Jeff Hardy defeated Kane to retain the World Heavyweight Championship

-It was a good, lengthy match (about twenty-four minutes) that saw Hardy pick up the victory after Edge interfered and hit Hardy with a Spear. The crowd booed Edge heavily as he walked to the back.

~Match 4: Evan Bourne & Ren defeated The Hart Dynasty to retain the ECW Tag Team Championships

-David Hart Smith and Tyson Kidd cut a promo, saying that they were going to win the ECW Tag Team Titles, and that they would now be going by the name "The Hart Dynasty", as they both have some form of relation to The Hart Family. Good match that saw the finish come when Bourne hit a Shooting Star Press on David Hart Smith.

~Match 5: Chris Jericho defeated CM Punk to retain the WWE Championship

-Punk was really over with the crowd, and there was a spot where it looked like the Title was actually going to change hands after Punk hit a GTS, but Jericho managed to get his foot on the bottom rope before hitting Punk with a Codebreaker moments later.

~Match 6: Randy Orton defeated Kurt Angle

-Really, really good match. The crowd was into it the whole time. Orton picked up the win with an RKO after Cena distracted Angle.

~Match 7: Shelton Benjamin defeated Jack Swagger to become the new ECW Champion

-Christian made his way to the ring before the match and stated that he had suffered a knee injury the night before at a Live Event, and informing the crowd that he had no choice but to vacate the ECW Championship. He seemed emotionally upset as he walked to the back. Jack Swagger suggested that he win the Championship by forfeit, but Theodore Long came out and said that if any Superstar in the back wanted the opportunity to face Swagger for the ECW Championship, they could take it. The Gold Standard made his way to the ring to major heat and defeated Jack Swagger in a nearly thirty-minute match. Benjamin won with the Paydirt and Swagger actually got a major pop as he got to his feet after the match. It looks like Swagger is officially a face now, and Benjamin is a heel, ECW Champion.

WWE in talks with former Champion, More info on Extreme Rules, Three-Hour Raw

Recently, it was rumored that WWE has been in talks with former WWE Crusierweight Champion Shannon Moore. The speculation is that Moore will end up making a return to WWE on it's Raw Brand, but nothing has been confirmed yet. Stay tuned for more details.

It was announced earlier this week that "The All-American American" Jack Swagger has been added to the ECW Championship Match at Extreme Rules. It will now be Christian vs. Tommy Dreamer vs. Jack Swagger. The stipulation is still unknown.

This Monday, there will be a 3-Hour Edition of Monday Night Raw. The show will be live from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

ECW Tag Team Title Match announced for next Monday's Raw

The June 1, 2009 Edition of Raw will be a special Three-Hour Edition. It will feature matches from all three brands, including an ECW Tag Team Title Match. Evan Bourne and Ren will defend the ECW Tag Team Championships against Tyson Kidd and D.H. Smith.

The show begins at 8 PM Eastern Standard Time and goes until 11 PM Eastern Standard Time. More details on the show will likely be given on tonight's Raw.

This past Saturday Afternoon, Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas defeated Axle Comuteza and Cloud White to earn a shot at the World Tag Team Championships on tonight's Raw. They'll be facing The Colons for the Championships. Many people are expecting a Title Change.

It was announced that Chris Jericho would defend the WWE Championship against CM Punk in a TLC Match at Extreme Rules. The match is likely to be the Main Event of the show, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Summerslam 2009 will take place in the famous arena, Madison Square Garden. The Pay-Per-View's actual date is not scheduled yet, though.

ECW Preview, Extreme Rules, Releases

Three of the matches for Extreme Rules were announced last night on Raw, and more are expected to be announced tonight on ECW. The show will be held in Providence, Rhode Island, and it will begin at 8:00 PM Eastern Standard Time.

Tonight's ECW will feature a highly anticipated ECW Championship between Jack Swagger and Christian. The match will be the Main Event of the show, and many are expecting Jack Swagger to retain the Gold.

Two weeks remain until Judgment Day, and one has to wonder if it's possible for things to get any more intense.

Earlier in the night, Mick Foley made his way to the ring to inform the WWE Universe that Jeff Hardy would, in fact, be competing at Judgment Day, regardless of his condition. This brought out Edge, who basically demanded that he be put into the match to replace Jeff Hardy, since The Rainbow-Haired Warrior was not medically cleared to compete.

Foley denied the request, telling The Rated-R Superstar that if he was going to replace Hardy with someone, it wouldn't be Edge. As Edge talked down Jeff Hardy, in Hardy's own hometown, the crowd couldn't have hated him more. It wasn't until Jeff's brother Matt made his way to the squared circle, chasing Edge through the crowd in an attempt to get some retribution for his brother.

The Raw General Manager informed Hardy to let Edge go as the two would have their chance to fight each other this Thursday on WWE Superstars. We wouldn't see Hardy or Edge again until the end of the night, when it was time for The Rated-R Superstar to host a furious Matt Hardy on The Cutting Edge.

The Intercontinental Champion barely made it to the middle of the ramp when he was attacked by Matt Hardy. A brawl began as the two fought up the ramp and on the stage. The most shocking part of the night came when Edge tried to Suplex Hardy off of the stage. Hardy blocked it, and instead took himself and Edge off the stage and crashing through a table below courtesy of a Side Effect. Will these two even be able to compete on Superstars?

The show kicked off with a high-speed battle between "The Ultimate Underdog" Rey Mysterio and "The Shaman of Sexy" John Morrison. Unfortunately for Morrison, he came up short in his Raw Debut, losing to Mysterio after a 619/Springboard Splash combination.

Carlito and Primo claim that they like challenges, but they might have one on their hands that is too big to handle. After a Triple Threat Tag Team Match that stole the show, Mike Knox and Snitsky were left standing victorious when Knox got the pin on Cloud White, Axle Comuteza's good friend and Tag Team Partner. The victory came after Snitsky hit White with a Big Boot while the Referee was distracted, allowing Knox to capitalize with a Sit-Out Spinebuster.

Since being Drafted to Raw back in December, The Miz has been trying to establish himself as a Singles Competitor on WWE's Flagship Show. Last week, "The Chick Magnet" picked up an impressive victory over R Truth, but The Miz claims that there are still people who doubt his superiority over The Hip-Hop Superstar. After going to Mick Foley, The Miz got himself a match against R Truth, and that match will take place this Thursday on WWE Superstars.

Perhaps the strongest superstar to be Drafted to the Raw Brand, Kylarnartia, looked to make an impactful Debut by holding an Open Challenge. His challenge was answered by Mond Black, another superstar that was just recently Drafted to Raw. Despite the odds being against him in nearly every way, Mond Black managed to pick up a victory after escaping a second Military Press Slam and hitting a Flatliner on Kylarnartia.

Striker Boyd may be the most vicious superstar on the Raw Roster, but now he's one of the most disappointed. After losing to Montel Vontavious Porter (MVP) via Disqualification, Boyd will not be able to face Dustin Delta for the WWE United States Championship at Judgment Day. What will Boyd do now?

Batista Update, Raw Match Announced

After Backlash last night, Batista was rendered unable to compete. It is unknown how long he will be out, but he will need surgery on his knee, which was already damaged before the match.

It was announced that The Miz will take on R Truth tonight on Raw. That's the only preview that has been given.

ECW III: Six Days and Counting

Backlash is really turning out to be a major Pay-Per-View Event.

In his final ECW Match, the loudmouth Dolph Ziggler took on The Phenom, The Undertaker. While many expected this Main Event Match to be a warm-up Match for The Deadman, it proved to be just the opposite as it was actually Ziggler that picked up the win. After about fifteen minutes of back and forth fighting, The Deadman looked to put Ziggler away with a Chokeslam. After The Deadman hit the Chokeslam, Jack Swagger came out to the ringside area and taunted him. Taker exited the ring and nailed Swagger with a Left Hand. As The Phenom went to finish the match, Swagger blasted him with a Right Hand before throwing him in the ring. This allowed Ziggler to hit a Schoolboy Pin and pick up the biggest victory of his career before heading over to Smackdown.

"The Fighting Irishman" Finlay informed Josh Matthews that he planned on winning the Battle Royal and winning the ECW Championship for the first time in his career. Will Finlay's plans work out?

John Morrison's final match on ECW was Zack Blaze's first match on ECW. Blaze, trained by Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle, went toe-to-toe with Morrison, and ended up defeating "The Shaman of Sexy" after a mid-air Roundhouse Kick followed by a Corkscrew Flip from the top rope. Zack Blaze definitely has a positive future ahead of him.

"The Ultimate Opportunist" Edge paid a visit to ECW to make a speech about the Tri-Branded Battle Royal. He was interrupted by his former "associate" Zack Ryder, who informed Edge and the WWE Universe that he wants to make a name for himself in ECW. Edge said he was going to win the Battle Royal, but Ryder informed him that that was impossible because he was going to win it. Edge slapped Ryder and a brawl ensued between the two. After the commercial, "The Rated-R Superstar" demanded that ECW General Manager Theodore Long make a match between Edge and Ryder, and Long did just that. Ryder came very close to victory, but a reversed STO caused Ryder to crash into the Referee and temporarily take the Official out. Edge took advantage of the opportunity and hit Ryder with the Intercontinental Championship Belt before pinning him to win the match.

Amber Wattkins Update, Post-Backlash Plans for The Miz

New Smackdown Diva Amber Wattkins suffered a minor shoulder injury during her Debut Match with Rachel Delta. She's said to be fine, and she will be competing on the next edition of Friday Night Smackdown.

The current plan for The Miz is to have him engage in a feud with R Truth on Raw. That was the plan about a week ago, and unless R Truth wins the Tri-Branded Battle Royal at Backlash [which is highly unlikely], those plans won't change.

There is one surprise entrant for the Battle Royal Match. Some have speculated that it will be Ted DiBiase, but it is unknown when exactly he will be making his return to the ring.

It was announced this past Friday on Smackdown that Randy Orton will take on Zack Ryder at Backlash. The loser of the match will not be allowed to participate in the 21-Man Tri-Branded Battle Royal.

Judgment Day will take place in Chicago, Illinois. The Official Theme Song of Judgment Day will most likely be revealed on Monday Night Raw following Backlash.

Raw III: Six Days and Counting

This past Monday's Raw may have very well been a sign of things to come.

Just six days before Backlash, "The Extreme Enigma" Jeff Hardy battled "The Ultimate Underdog" Rey Mysterio for the right to challenge "The Big Red Machine" Kane for the World Heavyweight Championship at Backlash. It was a hard-fought battle, but Jeff Hardy was able to pick up the victory after interference from Kane himself, who took out Mysterio with a Chokeslam. Hardy hadn't realized this, but saw that Mysterio was down, so he capitalized with a Swanton Bomb and scored the three count. Jeff Hardy was unable to win the World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania 25--will he be able to do it at Backlash?

In the finals of the WWE United States Championship Tournament, Tyson Kidd defeated "The Fighting Irishman" Finlay and D.H. Smith to win the tournament and the right to face Dustin Delta for the U.S. Title at Backlash. The victory came after Finlay hit Smith with a Shillelagh, and Kidd Roundhouse Kicked Finlay out of the ring. Kidd hit a Springboard Elbow on his Tag Team Partner and pinned him to win the match.

Speaking of the U.S. Title, we were supposed to witness a battle of former U.S. Champions in Montel Vontavious Porter (MVP) vs. Striker "Yank" Boyd, but that didn't happen. Instead, Boyd laid out MVP with not one - but two - Strikeouts before stating that he was going to regain the United States Championship.

In a Backlash Preview Match, Zack Ryder defeated nine other superstars to win a 10-Man Tri-Branded Battle Royal. The last man to be eliminated was Goldberg, who was thrown over the top rope by Ezekiel Jackson. Goldberg had eliminated Jackson minutes earlier, and he thought he eliminated Ryder, but Ryder went through the second rope and not over the top rope, so he wasn't eliminated.

In a huge Main Event Match, John Cena defeated Curt Hawkins & Cody Rhodes in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match after a Double F-U.

Raw Matches Announced for Tonight

It was announced last week that Goldberg was going to take on Lawrence Davidson this week on Raw, but the match was cancelled as Lawrence Davidson has been sent back to Developmental for a while to get some wrestling training.

Instead of competing against Lawrence Davidson, Goldberg will participate in a 10-Man Tri-Branded Battle Royal Preview Match. The match will be held under Battle Royal Rules, and all ten participants will be superstars competing in the Tri-Branded Battle royal this Sunday at Backlash.

Rey Mysterio will battle Jeff Hardy in a match where the winner will face Kane at Backlash for the World Heavyweight Championship.

After an attack last week on Smackdown, Cody Rhodes and Curt Hawkins have challenged John Cena to a 2-on-1 Handicap Match on Raw, and Cena has accepted the match.

But before that, Cena made it clear that he did not approve of Triple H's actions at Wrestlemania and that he was going to win the Tri-Branded Battle Royal at Backlash and become the WWE Champion. He mentioned that he hoped Triple H won at Backlash so he could kick The Game's a*s at Judgment Day.

In a match made by Smackdown General Manager, Triple H went one-on-one with The Hurricane. The Young Superhero tried to put up a fight, but was no match for The Game. Until The Game made a mistake. Triple H left the ring to get a Sledgehammer, looking to send a message to CM Punk. but Hurricane was able to prevent being hit with the weapon. The Game looked to put The Hurricane away with a Pedigree, but The Hurricane countered it into a Bridge Pin out of nowhere, and scored the victory over the former WWE Champion.

Later on, Triple H announced in a backstage interview that he would be going one-on-one with The Hurricane next week in an Extreme Rules Match.

Chris Jericho, who is looking for a victory over The Undertaker at Backlash, continued to look strong going into the Pay-Per-View scoring a victory over "The Tuesday - now Monday - Night Delight" John Morrison.

Christian competed in his final match on Smackdown against Smackdown Newcomer, Cody Rhodes. Captain Charisma picked up the victory after a Killswitch. What lies ahead for Christian in the Land of Extreme?

In the Main Event Match, WWE Champion CM Punk picked up a hard-fought victory over "The Moscow Mauler" Vladimir Kozlov. After the match, Triple H appeared on the ramp and began to walk to the ring. Cody Rhodes and Curt Hawkins attacked the WWE Champion, coming through the crowd and laying him out before Triple H hit him with a Pedigree. John Cena rushed the ring and sent Triple H hightailing up the ramp, but not before The Game watched Cena hit Rhodes and Hawkins with a Double F-U.

I have changed Draft Pick #2 so that it is now "Raw Drafts...John Morrison!" instead of "ECW Drafts...Manu!".

I don't feel that Manu would have a lot of attention on ECW due to the fact that a lot of new picks that have been sent there are slightly big names and will need pushes as it is.

I wanted to get John Morrison off of ECW anyway.

Another change that was made is "Raw Drafts...Dolph Ziggler!" was changed to "Smackdown Drafts...Dolph Ziggler!"

I wanted to end the Tag Team of John Morrison and Dolph Ziggler, and this was the best way to do it.

The Miz's Undefeated Streak, The Hurricane

Evan Bourne is expected to take time off after Judgment Day, as we noted earlier. It is likely that Bourne will compete at Judgment Day, and something will happen there that will be the cause of his temporary leave.

Next Tuesday on ECW D.H. Smith and Tyson Kidd will team up to take on Finlay and Matt Hardy. This is interesting because it is possible that either Smith or Kidd will end up competing for the WWE United States Championship at Backlash.

Judgment Day will take place in Chicago, Illinois, which is the hometown of WWE Champion CM Punk. It should be interesting to see if CM Punk retains the WWE Championship at Backlash so he can defend it in his hometown.

Zack Blaze, Raw Match Announced, Evan Bourne

Zack Blaze was expected to make his Official ECW Debut in a match with Zack Ryder, but that didn't end up happening as there was a flight issue, and he was unable to make it to the arena.

In a huge match this Monday, Lawrence Davidson will make his Raw Debut in a match with Goldberg, who will be wrestling his first match on Raw in over five years.

Evan Bourne is expected to take some time off after Judgment Day (5/17) so a possible ECW Tag Team Championship change in the near future is likely.

ECW II: Mysterious Message - Recap

As Backlash continues to draw near, superstars are becoming more intense, and business continues to pick up.

One superstar, Chris Jericho, proved his determination by picking up a Pinfall Victory over "The Ruthless Russian" Vladimir Kozlov. Kozlov dominated a large portion of the match, but Jericho was able to his a surprise Codebreaker, stopping Kozlov's Chokeslam attempt and getting the three count. Jericho's opponent at Backlash - The Undertaker - will certainly prove to be more of a challenge than "The Ruthless Russian", though. Will Jericho be able to overcome the odds and defeat "The Deadman"? Or will The Undertaker reign supreme once again?

Speaking of reigning supreme, ECW newcomer Tyson Kidd picked up a major victory over "The Wrestling Machine" Kurt Angle. Kidd reversed an Angle Slam attempt into a Schoolboy Pin, earning the biggest victory of his career so far. An irate Angle stared on from inside the ring, knowing that his chances of facing Dustin Delta at Backlash were as good as gone.

ECW superstar Zack Ryder made his debut in the Land of Extreme, picking up a short - but impressive - victory over a St. Louis local. How will Ryder follow up his first victory on ECW?

Devon Immortal, perhaps ECW's most controversial Draft Pick, made an appearance and stated that he believed he deserved to be in line for a Championship. The Big Show confronted Immortal and told him that he felt otherwise, as did the people. Show tried to hit Immortal with a Knockout Punch, but Immortal was able to duck it and hit "The World's Largest Athlete" with a Low Blow Kick.

The General Manager of ECW - Theodore Long - came out and informed Devon Immortal that - by order of Mr. McMahon - he would be going one-on-one with the man he almost put out of action, Batista, at Backlash.

It was mentioned earlier that Zack Blaze suffered a minor shoulder injury. He was expected to be fine, and it is now confirmed that he is fine, and he will be appearing on the next ECW.

It was announced earlier today that there will be a 21-Man Tri-Branded Battle Royal at Backlash. The winner of the Battle Royal will earn a Title Shot for a World Title on their respective brand at Judgment Day.

Striker "Yank" Boyd will face D.H. Smith in what will be the final match of Round 2 of the WWE United States Championship Tournament this Friday night on Smackdown, despite the fact that neither Boyd nor Smith are Smackdown superstars.

Raw II: Draft 2009 - Recap

The famous line "It's time to shake things up again!" proved true this past Monday Night on Raw. Monday, April 13, 2009, is quite possibly the most historic night in the history of the WWE.

Things got off to an exciting start, with the high-flying Kofi Kingston battling John Morrison. Kingston was able to pick up the victory after an amazing Trouble in Paradise Kick from the top turnbuckle. What was even more amazing--Smackdown's first Draft Pick.

Enter Randy Orton. For the first time in three years, Randy Orton will be returning to Smackdown as an Official Smackdown Superstar. What will The Legend Killer to do establish himself on Smackdown?

We saw the Tag Team of Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder come to an end when Zack Ryder was Drafted to ECW after the team lost to ECW Tag Team Champions Evan Bourne and Ren.

In the Main Event Match - a Tri-Branded Battle Royal - Goldberg earned an easy victory for his new brand, along with two Draft Picks for it. "The Gold Standard" Shelton Benjamin and "The Ultimate Opportunist" Edge were Drafted to Raw. Once again, the Intercontinental Championship returns to Raw.

The World Heavyweight Champion, Kane, made quick work of Santino Marella, but now he may be wishing that he hadn't done so. After winning the match, Kane earned Raw a Draft Pick. That Draft Pick--Goldberg. This can't be good for Kane. At least not if he wants to keep the World Heavyweight Championship.

Smackdown struck gold twice more by getting "The Animal" Batista and "The Wrestling Machine" Kurt Angle as Draft Picks. How will this change Smackdown?

Perhaps the most fortunate brand was ECW, who - after ECW Champion Jack Swagger defeated WWE Champion CM Punk - Drafted Rob Van Dam and Devon Immortal. Two huge picks, Van Dam and Immortal, will definitely be respected in the Land of Extreme.

Brothers were reunited as Matt Hardy has once again become a Raw Superstar. This Draft Pick came after Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy faced-off in Singles Competition, with Jeff Hardy emerging victorious.

ECW I: Swagger Wins the Big One

For the first time in its history, we were treated to a 90 Minute Edition of ECW. Just one week before the Draft, superstars were getting ready for things to be shaken up. And boy, were things shaken up.

"The Tuesday Night Delight" John Morrison and his Tag Team Partner Dolph Ziggler made it known that they were the best in the business, and said that the Battle Creek Crowd didn't deserve to be graced with their presence. This brought out Evan Bourne and ECW Newcomer Ren. Bourne and Ren challenged Morrison and Ziggler to a match for the ECW Tag Team Championships. Morrison and Ziggler controlled most of the match, but in the end, it was Bourne and Ren that walked out of Battle Creek with the ECW Tag Team Championships after Morrison accidentally knocked Ziggler's lights out with a Springboard Kick, allowing Bourne and Ren to capitalize and leave with the gold.

Chris Jericho put The Undertaker on notice, letting The Deadman know that he has a Rematch Clause, and he intends to cash it in and win back the ECW Championship.

That was earlier in the night. After a grueling match with Mark Henry - in which The Deadman emerged victorious after a Tombstone Piledriver - The Undertaker was brutally assaulted by The World's Strongest Man. Henry left after planting The Deadman with not one - but two - World's Strongest Slams. Just when it seemed like things couldn't get any worse for The Deadman, Jack Swagger - Mr. Money in the Bank - made his way to the ring. The Deadman sat up, but Swagger blasted him with the Briefcase, destroying any hopes that The Deadman had of getting to his feet. Swagger cashed in the Briefcase and hit The defenseless Deadman with a Swagger Bomb, right before pinning him to win the ECW Championship. The question remains--has Swagger made a mistake and gotten on The Deadman's bad side?

In a weird turn of events, Ted DiBiase was found unconscious in his locker room just minutes before his U.S. Title Tournament Match with Tyson Kidd. Kidd tried to get the Referee to declare him the winner, but Theodore Long would have none of it, telling Kidd that Kurt Angle would take DiBiase's place, and face Kidd next week.

U.S. Champion Dustin Delta saw success in a match with Matt Hardy thanks to a distraction from his wife Rachel. Delta said he wasn't going to face Kurt Angle at Backlash, but now, he may have no choice.

It's time to move past Wrestlemania 25, and move forward to Backlash.

Speaking of moving forward, "The Legend Killer" Randy Orton made it clear that he was done with Shawn Michaels, and that he was ready to become the World Heavyweight Champion again. Orton made it through the night okay, but the same could not be said for Devon Immortal, who suffered a vicious attack at the hands of Shawn Michaels.

That brings up the question--has Randy Orton truly put an end to Shawn Michaels? Apparently Shawn Michaels doesn't think so.

In an exciting contest of sorts, "The Fighting Irishman" Finlay defeated Lord Smith to advance to Round 3 of the WWE United States Championship Tournament. Remember that the winner of the Tournament will face the current WWE United States Champion, Dustin Delta, at Backlash.

Speaking of Dustin Delta, he made a very impressive showing this past Monday on Raw, coming very close to defeating Kane, the World Heavyweight Champion. It was Kane who emerged victorious, though, thanks to a little help from "The Wrestling Machine" Kurt Angle.

Rey Mysterio and Devon Immortal - at different times - mentioned that they want a match for the World Heavyweight Championship. With Backlash just three weeks away, it's likely that a match for the World Heavyweight Championship will be made sooner than later.

The question is--who will face Kane for the World Heavyweight Championship?

In another exciting contest, Cryme Tyme proved that they deserve to be the WWE Tag Team Champions, defeating "The Gold Standard" Shelton Benjamin and "The Chick Magnet" The Miz in a very competitive match-up.
